Preparing for the first day of school

Welcome back to all our students and families! To ensure all students are prepared for the first day of school, please see our resources to assist students, families and staff to get connected and be ready to start learning.

Los Angeles County is offering Coronavirus testing for all county residents free of charge. No health insurance or proof of citizenship is needed.

Getting to know our students and starting the year reading immediately are essential points for the 2020-2021 school year. To bridge students’ reading skills, consider establishing reading routines, extend reading times, model and coach what “good readers” do, and offer feedback. High expectations build stronger readers!

Welcome back teachers, students, and families! We are excited to launch the 2020-2021 school year. Our Elementary ELA focus is writing. Our goal is to empower teachers, students and families by providing Professional Development that encourages student voice through writing. We will leverage the craft and structure standards and showcase how students apply author’s craft in their own writing!

LAUSD will be providing supplemental digital learning tools for the 2020-2021 school year to assist with distance learning. Staff, students, and parents can access user guides, videos, and support information at https://achieve.lausd.net/DigitalLearningTools

The LAUSD Instructional Technology Initiative will support Roybal Elementary with its Practitioner 5.0 program.
